We are pleased to announce that, after an internal vote, Forest Dog Rescue (FDR) has been crowned as our charity of the year.

As a team of dog lovers, and a dog friendly office, this was not a big surprise to the management team at Citizen.

Samantha Preece, Marketing Director at Citizen said: “We are delighted to be partnering with the amazing team at Forest Dog Rescue for the year.

“The team at Citizen will be offering their marketing expertise free of charge to the charity to help them raise their profile and the great work they do for our four legged friends in the Worcestershire area.

“We’ll also be hosting fundraising activities for the Forest Dog Rescue over the next 12 months.”

Forest Dog Rescue are a small charity based in Worcestershire, who are 100% reliant on donations, with funds used to provide for the dogs. FDR give much needed care and a safe haven to unwanted, abandoned, mistreated and stray dogs from across the Midlands.

Recently FDR have had newly built kennels and undercover play areas. To properly assess the dogs they are in the middle of constructing a room to mimic a living room setting, with a sofa, hoover, TV and more. This will allow their team to thoroughly assess the dogs in a home environment to see their temperament and behaviour. By doing so, it allows the dogs to have the best chance at being rehomed with a family suitable for them.

Since building new kennels there has been one area, an outdoor fenced play space, that hasn’t had much attention. Our plan at Citizen is to raise funds and support FDR in the development of this. Along with offering our marketing expertise and giving some canine cuddles (our real specialty).
