When Citizen Communication drew up their shortlist for their first ever Charity of the Year they had a number of local charities and good causes to consider.

However, as a team of animal lovers and dog owners, there was one that stood head and paws above the rest – and that was the Kidderminster-based animal rescue centre, Forest Dog Rescue.

The past few months has seen the Citizen team get to know the staff and volunteers at the centre and identify the best ways in which they can support them.

Last year’s initiatives included a fund-raising raffle held at Hogarth’s Stone Manor Hotel, and a Festive Dog Food Drive, where Citizen staff collected donations of dog food, toys and bedding for their four legged friends.

The plan, however, was always to help the charity with something a little more long term to help increase awareness of the great work that they do and to assist with fund-raising.

Citizen Account Manager, Emily Hyde, said: “We have been working with the team at Forest Dog Rescue, looking at ways in which we can assist them with their marketing. This has resulted in us helping to upgrade their existing website and giving them a total brand refresh to really help them stand out.”

“We are delighted with the results so far and are really looking forward to implementing the changes over the next few months. You could say we are giving them the ulti-mutt marketing make-over!”

Forest Dog Rescue is a small Worcestershire based charity, and the team there are 100% dependent on donations to help them care for unwanted, abandoned, mistreated and stray dogs from across the Midlands.
