National Apprentice Week 2023 is upon us, it is a celebration of the value and achievements of apprenticeships in the United Kingdom. This annual event, which takes place in February, is organised by the National Apprenticeship Service (NAS) to raise awareness and promote the benefits of apprenticeships to both individuals and employers.

An apprenticeship is a form of on-the-job training that combines practical work experience with classroom learning. Apprenticeships are available in a wide range of industries, from engineering and construction to health and social care and even the creative industries. They provide an excellent opportunity for individuals to gain the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in their chosen career while earning a salary, a huge bonus when weighing up options and the ever increasing cost of university.

At Citizen, we have always  found apprenticeship schemes a valuable tool for the company to develop a skilled and diverse workforce. We have been involved in apprenticeship schemes for decades and have seen many apprentices through our business and our clients businesses.

One apprentice that came through our doors some years ago even made it to director level and was a shareholder of the company for many years.

Likewise, we have and still offer apprentice support to our clients, supporting apprentices through their programmes and offering advice and mentorship in the marketing, digital, strategy and creative areas of our industry.

And our very our Georgia Little is currently studying a fully funded Digital Marketing Bachelors Degree as part of her ongoing training at Citizen.

National Apprentice Week is a great opportunity to celebrate the achievements of apprenticeships in the United Kingdom. And If you’ve never engaged with an apprenticeship programme before, maybe now is the time to take the plunge. Feel free to get in touch with the Citizen team to discuss our experiences.

Or if you’re interested in work experience with us, read about how last year’s recruits got on at Citizen HQ.
