CitCom and Worcestershire Work Experience

At CitCom, we believe in nurturing local talent and giving back to our community here in Worcestershire. For many years, we’ve been proud to open our doors to students from local schools, offering valuable work experience placements that provide a real insight into the dynamic world of marketing and design.

These opportunities are more than just a glimpse behind the scenes; they’re a chance for young individuals to develop practical skills, build confidence, and explore potential career paths.

We understand that the transition from education to the professional world can be daunting. Work experience acts as a vital bridge, offering students the chance to:

  • Gain Practical Skills: Apply classroom knowledge in a real-world business environment.
  • Understand Business Operations: Learn how a professional agency functions, from client briefs to project delivery.
  • Explore Career Paths: Discover different roles within an industry and identify areas of interest.
  • Build Confidence: Develop professional communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities.

We aim to make every work experience placement as engaging and enriching as possible, providing a supportive environment where students can genuinely contribute and learn.

Aimee’s Experience at CitCom

Recently, we had the pleasure of hosting Aimee from Haybridge High School and Sixth Form. Aimee fully immersed herself in our operations, providing a fantastic perspective on her week with us:

“I have done my work experience at CitCom, a great sales and marketing agency. CitCom is a well-organised company. Their staff are all very approachable and create a good work environment to be in. I went to this company to learn what it’s like and how a sales and marketing business operates.”

Aimee’s week was packed with diverse activities, giving her a hands-on understanding of agency life:

“A couple of things that I did was packing parcels for promotions, learnt about the company and their history, designed posters for one of their clients’ businesses, researched information about CitCom’s social media accounts and compared them to their competitors, designed social media posts for ideas of upcoming posts and lastly, learnt how to design in Illustrator and Photoshop. I enjoyed my week at CitCom and enjoyed the things I got to do and learn. My favourite part was designing by getting to use my own thoughts and ideas into designing realistic objects.”

Aimee’s enthusiasm and willingness to learn were truly commendable. Her experience highlights the varied nature of work within a creative agency and the personal growth that can come from applying academic learning in a professional setting. We’re particularly pleased that she enjoyed the design process, putting her own creativity into practice.

Our Commitment to Local Talent

Aimee’s feedback reinforces why we are so passionate about offering work experience. It’s about empowering the next generation, providing them with the practical exposure that complements their academic studies. We applaud Aimee and all the students who dedicate their time to these valuable placements, and we extend our gratitude to the schools in Worcestershire for their collaboration.

If you are a local school or a student interested in future work experience opportunities with CitCom, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. We’re always looking for bright, enthusiastic individuals to join us and learn how we help brands thrive.
